Are your prices including or excluding BTW (Dutch VAT)?
All prices on our website are inclusive of BTW, so no surprises afterwards. There is only a single booking fee of 15 Euros for your activity(s), which also includes BTW.
What does the minimum amount mean?
That is the minimum amount you should pay for a walk, workshop or arrangement/package. Imagine you have 8 people and the minimum is 225 Euro including VAT or 25 Euro per person, 8 x Euro 25 = Euro 200. That means that you are below the minimum amount, so the minimum amount stays + a single fee of 15 Euro reservation costs (booking costs (including VAT). If you take more people on the activity, then the charge is 25 Euro per person + 15 Euro booking costs.
Where are the workshops held?
This depends on which workshop you would like to do. This can be a private room in a cosy pub in the centre, a dance studio, or a rehearsal room in a small theatre ... you name it. We always ensure that the location is appropriate for the style of the workshop. And of course you will get clear directions from us, so you wonít get lost on the day itself.
Can your workshops also be given in on location or in other parts of the country?
Yes of course! If you have a location, then we can come to you. Do you have a wish list, but no location? We have the contacts, and are happy to give you a proposal. So do not worry: Tell us your wishes and they will come true!
How do we know where we are expected?
We think of everything, including a clear road map! You will receive this approximately 2 weeks before the planned event, so you know where you should be in advance.
Where do the walking or bicycle tours start?
The starting point is agreed during consultation and dependant on your needs and what you would like to do. However most tours start near the Central Station or the Dam. These points are easily accessible and close to many great attractions.
Will our walking or cycling tour still go ahead in the event of bad weather?
Yes, the tour will still go ahead. If you ensure you have an umbrella or raincoat, then we provide a sunny guide. And if needed, or if you would like to, then we will have an extra stop in a warm pub. If you are with a large group, then we will arrange for extra umbrellas and rain capes at an additional charge. An unforgettable memory of the day, along with great advertisement for the company.
What time does a workshop, tour or arrangement begin?
Whatever time you wish! As far as we are concerned the customer is king, so all times are available upon agreement. However some restaurants with entertainment have specific starting times, and we reserve Saturday afternoons for the bachelor party workshops, which begin at the following times: +-14:00 and +- 16:00. Would you like to begin at another time? Feel free to enquire!
I would like our company to go for a weekend in Amsterdam. Can you arrange everything from A to Z?
Leave that to us! You would like to get to know Amsterdam and become acquainted with each other? Work together in a nice way and have fun along the way? Letís eat well, and not forget a good hotel of course. In short, tell us your wishes and they will come true! Then we will provide a Corporate Company package that will be talked about for a long time to come.
Do you have a brochure for us?
We donít have any standard brochures, because our offers are updated and extended so frequently. A brochure would be soon outdated. If you see something on our website that appeals to you, then you can print it out, or we're happy to send you a quotation by email. Do you have a specific request or a tailor-made request? Tell us your wishes and they will come true!
Can your activities be given in any other languages other than Dutch?
Yes, all our guides and escorts speak English. Do you have a preference for another language? No problem. We will do our best to organise a guide that has adequate skills in the chosen language.
Can I book an activity with say 5, 6 or 7 people?
Of course! All our workshops and packages can also be booked for small groups if you're willing to pay the minimum charge. The advantage with such a small company is that you will receive more personal attention!
Do you also arrange transport and hotel stays?
Yes, we do! Would you like to be picked up by a coach, a limousine or a tuk-tuk? A transfer to or from Schiphol? 1 or more nights in a good hotel? These are just a few examples, and we are happy to arrange this, even if itís not in conjunction with a full package. Tell us your wishes and they will come true!
Can I make a provisional booking?
No, unfortunately it is not possible to make a provisional booking because availability of guides, escorts and locations changes daily and we canít make any guarantees. If you would like to book a workshop or arrangement, you are advised not to wait too long and fill in our reservation form on the website, because we run on a Ďfirst come first servedí basis. We will then get directly to work on your reservation.
How can I book?
You can book through our reservation form on the website. Then we have all the correct information to get straight to work on your reservation.
Can I claim the BTW (Dutch VAT) back for my company?
In principle, if you are a company based in The Netherlands, all costs for a company are BTW deductible. The BTW office will only need to verify that the costs are reasonable. The event must be open for at least 75% of employees (or a particular department / team). The BTW can be reclaimed by the company, so if the cost of a workshop is 25 Euro pp including 19% BTW, in reality this will then cost the company 21 Euro p.p.
Note: international companies from abroad: please check with your administration for your specific situation.
What if someone cancels just before? Or if the trip doesnít go ahead at all?
You can reduce the number of participants up to 8 days before the scheduled program date with a maximum of 25% of the size of the group. Provide this information to us by writing or via e-mail. It is no longer possible after the cancellation deadline, including in relation to agreements with third parties and administration. The entire trip was canceled? Then the conditions defined in our general terms and conditions (Article 7) will apply.
Do you give us a cancellation insurance or life insurance, or should we arrange these ourselves?
It is best to do this through your usual business insurance company. Good cancellation insurance avoids costs in the event that you must postpone or cancel the arrangement, with the costs incurred by Doubledutch Events having been taken into account. A life insurance covers liability for personal injury, death or loss of personal belongings. Your insurer can provide detailed information on coverage and the correct care.
Which is the best way to travel to Amsterdam?
The simplest way to travel to Amsterdam is by public transport or by car and then park on the outskirts of the city, then travel into the centre by bus / tram / metro. This prevents very high parking charges in the town/city. The following websites give extensive information about parking in the city, public transport and accessibility and events that take place in the city: www.naaramsterdam.nl - www.gvb.nl - http://www.atcb.nl/nl/home/evenementen/default.aspx.
Where can I find the terms and conditions of Doubledutch Events?
They can be found over here and at the end of this page. We can email them to you on request.
